Privacy Policy for AdvocatusMobile
Last updated: 02.oct.2024
AdvocatusMobile ("the App") is a
mobile extension of the Advocatus desktop application, designed to fetch and
display data from the desktop application and the E-PREDMET state service. This
Privacy Policy explains how the App uses certain device permissions to provide
its functionalities. The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal
data from users beyond what is necessary for its core functions.
1. Information
Collection and Use
The App functions strictly as an interface for
retrieving and displaying information from the following sources:
- Advocatus
Desktop Application: Syncs data such as case information,
deadlines, notifications, and documents.
- E-PREDMET
State Service: Fetches case updates and legal information
via the E-PREDMET API using valid court case numbers.
The App does not collect or store personal data
from the user. All data is fetched in real-time and displayed within the App.
2. Device
Permissions
The App requests certain device permissions to
enhance user experience and provide its functionalities. Below is an
explanation of each permission and how it is used:
a. Calendar
Access
- Purpose:
To sync events from the Advocatus desktop application, such as court
hearings and deadlines, with your device's calendar.
- Usage:
The App adds events to your calendar to help you keep track of important
dates. It does not access or modify existing calendar entries unrelated to
the App.
b. Reminders
Access
- Purpose:
To sync tasks and deadlines (Rokovnik and Ročišnik) with your device's
reminders.
- Usage:
The App creates reminders for upcoming tasks and deadlines to ensure you
receive timely notifications.
c. Biometric
Authentication (Face ID/Touch ID)
- Purpose:
To enable secure and quick login after the initial authentication with
username, password, and office key.
- Usage:
The App uses your device's biometric authentication (Face ID or Touch ID)
for subsequent logins. Biometric data is managed by your device and is not
accessed or stored by the App.
d. Phone Call
Initiation
- Purpose:
To allow you to make phone calls directly from contact numbers displayed
within the App.
- Usage:
When you tap on a phone number in the App, it initiates a call using your
device's phone function. The App does not access your contacts or call
history.
e. Notifications
- Purpose:
To send you notifications about upcoming deadlines, hearings, and
case-related updates.
- Usage:
The App sends push notifications to keep you informed about important
events. You can manage notification preferences in your device settings.
f. File
Access and Storage
- Purpose:
To save documents such as PDFs (bills, specifications, case files) to your
device's storage for offline access.
- Usage:
When you choose to download a document from the App, it is saved to your
device's local storage. The App does not access other files on your
device.
3. Data
Security
Since the App does not collect or store personal
data, there are minimal data security concerns. The App communicates with the
Advocatus desktop application and the E-PREDMET API over secure connections to
fetch data. All data transmission is encrypted to protect confidentiality.
4. Data
Retention
The App does not retain user data. Data is
fetched in real-time when the App is in use and is not stored locally or on
remote servers.
5. Your
Rights
As the App does not collect or store personal
data, there are no specific user rights related to data access, correction, or
deletion within the App.
You have control over device permissions and can
modify or revoke them at any time through your device settings. Please note
that revoking permissions may limit the App's functionality.
6. Third-Party
Services
The App does not integrate with or transmit data
to any third-party services. All data is sourced from the Advocatus desktop
application and the E-PREDMET state service.
7. Children's
Privacy
The App is intended for use by legal
professionals and is not designed for individuals under the age of 18. As the
App does not collect personal data, there are no specific privacy concerns for
minors.
8. Changes
to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to
time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or legal requirements.
Updates will be posted within the App, and the revised policy will take effect
immediately upon posting.
